The Student Achievement Measure is supported by six sponsoring associations, working together to provide a more comprehensive and accurate picture of student progress and completion as students move across institutions and state boundaries.

Purdue University-Calumet Campus

Established in 1946, Purdue University Calumet is an academically comprehensive regional university and part of the internationally respected Purdue University system. The campus is located in the northwest Indiana city of Hammond, less than 25 miles southeast of downtown Chicago near the shores of Lake Michigan. Claiming one of the most affordable tuition rates in Indiana, Purdue University Calumet offers a world respected Purdue University degree at an excellent value. Purdue Calumet is strategically committed to helping serious, committed students persist successfully in earning their Purdue degree. Purdue Calumet graduates have earned nearly 50,000 Purdue degrees. More than 9,000 students attend Purdue Calumet. Ethnic minority students comprise one-third of the total body. International students make up more than 9 percent of Purdue Calumet’s enrollment. The university occupies a 100+ acre, 17-building, urban neighborhood campus. Purdue Calumet offers some 50 baccalaureate and master’s degree programs of study in such Purdue academic strengths as engineering; technologies; natural, behavioral and social sciences; the liberal arts; and professional programs of nursing, business; education, and hospitality & tourism management. Purdue Calumet also provides learning opportunities leading to dozens of professional certificates. Purdue University Calumet is one of the few universities nationally to have formally adopted experiential learning (ExL)—the structured integration of traditional classroom and textbook learning with the applied learning that occurs within a real world environment— as a requirement of all undergraduate students. Purdue Calumet’s adherence to experiential learning demands that all ExL courses be approved by the university’s Faculty Senate and comply with standards of the National Society for Experiential Education. Purdue University Calumet also strategically advances positive change and economic growth within northwest Indiana through activities at various, campus-based outreach institutes and centers. Additionally, Purdue Calumet avails itself to the needs of business and industry through applied faculty research activities – some nationally prominent – and partners with local technology and business incubators to help cultivate new jobs and employers. Purdue Calumet became a residential campus in fall 2005 with the opening of fully-furnished, apartment-style student housing facilities.
