California State University, Fullerton plays a major role in Southern California’s intellectual, cultural and economic life. The University's 216,000 graduates occupy key positions in business, government, and the nonprofit sector. With its main campus in Fullerton, a branch campus in Irvine, and satellites in Garden Grove and Santa Ana, the University is home to more than 38,000 students each fall and more than 3,700 faculty and staff members. Cal State Fullerton’s faculty members are outstanding scholars in their disciplines who work in close collaboration with students and staff to increase knowledge. What sets them apart is the exceptional learning environment they create, because professors’ primary focus is on teaching and helping students reach their potential. Often in collaboration with students, CSUF faculty members conduct substantial research, scholarship, and creative activities. Much of the research conducted at CSUF is highly applied and focused on community needs, with faculty members directly contributing to the region's and state's education, workforce development, and economy. One hundred seven high-quality degree programs, including 50 master's degrees plus two doctorates, are offered in eight colleges: The Arts; Communications; Education; Engineering and Computer Science; Health and Human Development; Humanities and Social Sciences; Mihaylo College of Business and Economics; and Natural Sciences and Mathematics. With full accreditation for its overall program, Cal State Fullerton has earned national recognition for its programs in art, athletic training, business, chemistry, communications, communicative disorders, computer science, dance, engineering, music, nursing, public administration, teacher education, and theater.
