The Student Achievement Measure is supported by six sponsoring associations, working together to provide a more comprehensive and accurate picture of student progress and completion as students move across institutions and state boundaries.

University of Maine

The University of Maine is the state’s land grant university and the flagship institution in the University of Maine System, and it is among the most comprehensive higher education institutions in the Northeast. Its 11,571 undergraduate and graduate students come from 50 states, and more than 60 countries. UMaine students participate in nationally and internationally recognized research working with world-class faculty, live and learn in first-rate facilities, and access some of the best year-round recreation sites in the nation. The University of Maine offers doctoral degrees in over 30 fields, representing the humanities, sciences, engineering, and education; master’s degrees in roughly 70 disciplines; 90 undergraduate majors and academic programs; and one of the oldest and most prestigious honors programs in the U.S. The university promotes environmental stewardship on its campus, with substantial efforts aimed at conserving energy, recycling, and adhering to green building standards in new construction. Located in the town of Orono along the banks of the Stillwater River, the University of Maine offers a strong traditional education at an affordable price.

The SAM Full-time Bachelor's Degree model tracks a group of students who started a bachelor's degree program at University of Maine in the Fall of 2016.
