The SAM First-time-In-College Stacked Credentials model tracks a group of students who started at Virginia State University in the Fall of 2019. The chart shows the highest degree earned for students in the group within 6 years. Click on the bar segments in the chart to see the breakout by type of degree earned (associate or bachelor’s degree) or institution (Virginia State University, another 2-year school, or another 4-year school). The sections of the SAM chart represent the proportion of students in the original group with the following five outcomes.

• Students who graduated with an associate or 2-year degree are represented by the red bar ().
  • Click on the red section of the chart to see the proportion of students who earned their associate degree from Virginia State University or from another institution.
• Students who graduated with a bachelor’s or 4-year degree are represented by the green bar().
  • Click on the green section of the chart to see the proportion of students who earned their associate degree from Virginia State University or from another institution.
• Students who are still enrolled are represented by the aqua bar ().
  • Click on the aqua section of the chart to see the proportion of students who are still enrolled at Virginia State University, at another 2-year institution, or at another 4-year institution.
• Students from the original group whose status is unknown are represented by the green bar (). These students may have graduated or still be enrolled somewhere, but their status could not be determined conclusively.
